  • Adam Kingl's Next Generation Leadership:

Stop losing out on young talent.

Generation Y sees the world differently from any other generation in modern memory. Nowhere is it more evident than in the workplace. Employers who refuse to adapt risk losing out on top talent.

Workplace dynamics have shifted with the emergence of Generation Y.

The technological and economic advances have changed what this generation wants from life and work.

  • Work-life balance: It's not a cry for fewer hours; it's a plea to work outside the rigid 9 to 5 schedule.

  • Additional opportunities: Job-leaping isn't a sign of disloyalty; it's a chance to gain skills and continue to compete by developing skills through various experiences.

  • Non-traditional benefits: Emphasis on benefits beyond monetary is essential. Competitive pay is still crucial, but Gen Y looks towards companies that can provide benefits that extend to the mental and emotional benefits too.

  • Sense of purpose: Gen Y often looks for companies that reflect their life values and passions. They often find a desire to work with companies that reflect their own social conscious.
